Italian Burners is an open, diverse and creative community, a way of life, inspired by the principles of the Burning Man Project. Established in 2007 by a group of friends as a platform to drive projects aiming to spread the culture of collaboration, participation, creative expression, learning, and mutual respect, over the years, Italian Burners has grown and expanded into a Cultural Association in 2019.

At the heart of Italian Burners sits the essence of Italian culture and the regional multiverses that exist within it. Always present is the deep love and appreciation of Italian cuisine with its incredible colours and flavours, as are illuminating experiences through music, art, nature, performances, workshops, and seminars, underpinned by the principles of personal growth and civic responsibility of Burning Man. These are the pillars on which we co-create our events, always aiming to infuse the Burning Man experience with the rich Italian culture. 

Through the participation of all, we co-create events that invite everyone into the classic Italian family feel, allowing Burners from all over the world to experience what it’s like to be immersed in Italian culture and way of life, while being immersed into an innovative and creative mini burn.

Multiple events have sprouted and grown over the years, such as Italian Burning Weekend (organized in Umbria from 2008 to 2011), and Italian Burning Boots (organized in Tuscany from 2015-2019). Other deeply appreciated events include The Monster Is On Fire (organized in Milan from 2011 to 2016), Burning Sand (organized in San Vito lo Capo in Sicily from 2010 to 2021), and other local micro events such as Burner Nights, Burner Pub, Burner Picnic in the cities of Bologna, Florence, Milan, Rome, and Venice, to welcome and embrace virgins and new Burners into our limitless Burners’ universe.
